King of the Roost. When my husband and I were first married we had an apartment in an
old Victorian farmhouse in the country. Bantam roosters had the run of the yard
and I fell in love with the beautiful coloring of their feathers. Fresh out of
art school, I tried capturing their beauty in pastel drawings. In our next
apartment, I painted a rooster on one of my kitchen cabinet doors. This quilt
reminds me of that happy time when we were first starting out. 36" x

Redwork Winter. Growing up in western New York, my friends and I found plenty to
do on winter days, right in our own neighborhood. There were hills in our
village where we could toboggan or try out our Christmas skis, and fathers
flooded their backyards for our ice skating pleasure. Snowmen were on duty all
over town, keeping watch over our winter activities. Warm socks and mittens
were a necessity. The radiator in our kitchen which was always piled high with
our wet mittens, drying out, ready for our next outdoor adventure. This little
redwork quilt brings back memories of those times when a snow day was great
